WWE is known for wanting to brand their stars regardless of the history of their careers prior to signing by giving them a new name.
Name changes has become more and more prevalent with the number of stars coming from All Elite Wrestling and getting called up from WWE NXT to the main roster.
With the company recently adding Mariah May to NXT and not mentioning her name during her debut, it looks like there will be some more name changes incoming.
Here are seven WWE stars to potentially undergo name changes.
7. Mariah May – Mariah June
On the June 3 edition of WWE NXT, Mariah May made her debut with the company to confront NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne and the rest of the women’s division.
After several months of speculation and reports, May has finally arrived in the promotion just mere days after her removal from the AEW roster page and becoming a free agent.
The NXT debut felt eerily similar to the arrival of Ricky Saints on the show, with the commentary team and company not mentioning the star’s name.
Much like Ricky went from the surname of Starks to Saints, WWE could be changing Mariah’s last name to June from her real name of May in the weeks to come.
