WWE
Numerous names have been announced for this year’s WWE Hall of Fame class, including Triple H, Michelle McCool and Lex Luger.
Among his many accomplishments, Lex Luger is the longest reigning United States Champion in history, setting the record with the title while it remained a part of the NWA and later WCW.
Since WWE gained possession of the title, a number of former champions have been inducted into the Hall of Fame, but there are still more that could get the honour in the coming years.
Here are 7 former WWE United States Champions that could be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
7) Santino Marella

During his time in WWE, Santino Marella was one of the most popular stars on the roster, with him capturing the Intercontinental Championship in his first match.
Santino also went on to win the United States Championship in 2012, defeating Jack Swagger to capture the gold.
Santino is the current Director of Authority in TNA, and with him making recent appearances on NXT television, and him back in the minds of WWE fans, we could see him get that Hall of Fame nod soon.
His daughter Arianna Grace is also on hand to induct him.
