After spending the entirety of 2024 thus far on the sidelines, it has now been reported that former WWE star Miro has requested his release from AEW.
Whether this is granted or not remains to be seen, but if it does it could potentially pave the way for others to follow suit, with WWE the most obvious destination should they do so.
Here are eight AEW stars who could sign with WWE.
8. Miro
Considering we’ve already mentioned him it’s only right to kick things off with The Redeemer himself, who now seems poised to end his exile in AEW for good.
This will depend on Tony Khan granting the former Rusev his release, but considering his inactivity over the last two years it really wouldn’t be much of a loss to AEW.
What it would be is WWE’s massive gain, with Miro being someone who still has a great deal of unfinished business in the company should they opt to re-sign him.
Rusev Day was WWE’s most over act at one point in time, yet it was never capitalised on. Perhaps with Triple H at the helm of WWE creative the Bulgarian Brute could reach greater heights.
