5. Jungle Boy
AEW’s future is in safe hands as long as Jungle Boy is on the roster. The former PWG star has become very popular thanks to his innovative offence, and plays the classic underdog role perfectly.
Jungle Boy is a great tag team wrestler, but this year he also proved just how good he is as a singles star with epic bouts against Cody Rhodes and MJF. Whether it’s on his own or in the tag division, it feels like a matter of time until he wins gold in AEW.
4. Sammy Guevara
Sammy Guevara has been one of the most consistent performers throughout the whole wrestling world in 2020. Whether he’s singing ‘Judas’ or battling Matt Hardy in the Dome of Deletion, he has been part of so many entertaining moments.
His relationship with Jericho is one of the main reasons the Inner Circle has worked so well, and his rivalry with MJF adds an interesting dynamic going forward. Given his charisma and athletic in-ring style, Guevara could easily become a top face in AEW in the near future.
3. Orange Cassidy
Orange Cassidy has been a fan favourite since his AEW debut, but nobody could have predicted his rise in 2020. “Freshly Squeezed” initially gained popularity due to his hilarious character work, but his feud with Chris Jericho showed he is also a very talented wrestler.
Cassidy also impressed in a thrilling TNT Title bout against Cody Rhodes on the anniversary edition of Dynamite, coming within a second of winning gold. He is now established as one of AEW’s main stars and was even one of Pro Wrestling Tees’ best sellers in 2020.
