AEW has built a reputation of being “Where The Best Wrestle” thanks in large part to the huge amount of massive matches they have put on in their six year existence.

Whether it be dream matches or rekindling long standing rivalries, these bouts have helped the company find its identity.

However, the rapid movement of the business and how the company’s storylines play out has led to several big matches having to be scrapped or canceled altogether.

While some of these contests could happen down the line, here are eight big AEW matches that may have been potentially canceled.

8. MJF vs. Jeff Jarrett

To start off 2025, Jeff Jarrett began a quest to win championship gold in All Elite Wrestling, particularly the AEW World Title.

However, MJF became a major obstacle in this quest with Friedman putting his own goals of winning the AEW World Championship ahead of Jarrett.

After some criticism towards the dialogue used in promos between the two, this feud was apparently scrapped before our eyes.

MJF and Jarrett could have blown off their ongoing issues in one match, but AEW chose to just let things fall by the wayside without a resolution.
