8. The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley)

On April 24, WWE had its latest round of mass talent cuts with over two dozen wrestlers being released from their contracts.

Among the names who were released, The Motor City Machine Guns had to be two of the most surprising cuts for the promotion.

Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley had earned the reputation as one of the most influential tag teams of their generation.

Considering All Elite Wrestling wanted to bring the legendary duo in when they were free agents in 2024, it feels like a no-brainer for AEW to bring in the Machine Guns for the upcoming All In London 2026 event.

7. Kay Lee Ray (Alba Fyre)

Alba Fyre was another one of the stars who were released from their contract during the latest round of mass talent cuts.

Throughout her time in WWE, Fyre was the longest reigning NXT UK Women’s Champion and a former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion.

Now that she is free from WWE, it looks like Fyre is going back to her roots and is once again known as Kay Lee Ray.

6. Knockout Brothers (Yuto-Ice & OSKAR)

AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2026 is in the books, but some fans were disappointed by the limited amount of New Japan Pro Wrestling talent that were part of the show.

Signing with TNA Wrestling in 2023, Dani Luna immediately thrusted herself into a prominent position.

3. Kairi Sane

From the most shocking WWE release of 2025 to the most shocking of 2026, Kairi Sane receiving her walking papers still has many fans puzzled.

Sane was in the midst of a months-long storyline with Asuka and IYO SKY that was on the cusp of culminating when the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion was released from her contract.

Following this abrupt exit from the promotion, Sane has since started to follow AEW CEO Tony Khan on social media, which may point to some communication in some form.

Kairi signing with AEW could open the door for the former WWE star to walk into the company and potentially represent her home promotion of STARDOM against a top star like Thekla at All In London 2026 from Wembley Stadium.

2. The New Day (Kofi & Austin Creed)

This feels like the first option that many fans are thinking of when it comes to potential debuting stars at AEW All In London 2026.

On May 2, the wrestling world was stunned to find out that WWE and The New Day had mutually agreed to their release from the company.
