For the past couple of years, it has seemed like the AEW tag team division has been missing a spark.
Despite long being one of the most significant parts of the company, the tag team scene has been lacking in importance for quite some time.
This may be about to change though with various teases to different partnerships forming before the fans’ eyes on the company’s programming.
Here are eight potential new AEW tag teams.
8. Will Ospreay & Kevin Knight
On the April 2 edition of AEW Dynamite, Will Ospreay teamed with Kevin “The Jet” Knight to defeat Blake Christian and Lee Johnson.
This led to Ospreay defeating Knight in the Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Quarterfinals at AEW Dynasty 2025.
After the duo once again teamed with Speedball Mike Bailey and Mark Briscoe to pick up a win in the $400K Explosive 8-Man Tag Team Match on the April 9 Dynamite, it feels like the success of Ospreay and Knight together is undeniable.
Despite Knight having a successful pairing with KUSHIDA as “The Intergalactic Jet Setters” in NJPW, “The Jet” could find another former IWGP Jr Heavyweight Champion can be just as good of a partner for the young star.
