8. Buddy Matthews

Back in February 2025, Buddy Matthews suffered a serious ankle injury during an AEW Continental Championship match against Kazuchika Okada at Grand Slam Australia.

Since then, Matthews has not been seen on AEW television while he had surgery and recovered from this injury.

However, Matthews recently returned to the Australia independent scene and then posted a video announcing that he had been medically cleared to return to in-ring competition.

7. Wardlow

Another AEW star who has been absent from the company due to a lengthy injury recovery is Wardlow.

The three-time TNT Champion returned to All Elite Wrestling at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2025, but he then suffered an unfortunate injury that led to him being on the sidelines for another year now.

Upon his previous return, Wardlow joined forces with the Don Callis Family and has a spot waiting for him back in the group.

Going on a lengthy undefeated streak, Hologram took AEW by storm with his unique and innovative in-ring exploits.

However, Hologram sustained a serious knee injury that required surgery and has led to him being sidelined for nearly a year now.

With his recovery coming close to an end, Hologram could make his presence felt at AEW All In London 2026 and look to go after revenge against the man who attacked him before his injury, El Clon.

3. Keith Lee

The AEW star who has been missing from the company’s programming for the longest amount of time is Keith Lee.

Back in December 2023, Lee was pulled from the AEW Worlds End pay-per-view due to issues with his lingering back injuries.

However, no one expected ‘The Limitless One’ to be absent from AEW programming for nearly three years now.

At AEW Double Or Nothing 2026, Will Ospreay defeated Samoa Joe to advance to the Owen Hart Foundation men’s tournament semi-finals.

Following this loss, Joe decided to take some time away from the ring to return to Hollywood for another filming role and left HOOK in charge of The Opps in his absence.

Recently, Joe conducted an interview where he teased the possibility of appearing at the upcoming AEW All In London 2026 pay-per-view.

After missing the last Wembley Stadium event, Samoa Joe making his return at All In London would be fitting and could see him insert himself right back in the mix with The Opps by his side.

1. Swerve Strickland

At the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2026 pay-per-view, Will Ospreay defeated Swerve Strickland to win the Owen Hart Foundation men’s tournament finals.

With this win, Ospreay can now challenge Kenny Omega for the AEW World Championship at All In London 2026 from Wembley Stadium in Ospreay’s home country.

Meanwhile, Strickland has not appeared on AEW television since suffering this loss in the Owen Hart Cup with many fans wondering his whereabouts.

Considering his importance as one of AEW’s biggest stars, Swerve feels like a necessary component for the All In London 2026 show, so fans should see him make his return at the Wembley Stadium show on August 30.
