On August 1 and 2, WWE will present one of the biggest premium live events of the year with SummerSlam 2026 from Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Considering the importance of this show, there could be a significant number of titles that will be changing hands to change the landscape of the company.

From culminating lengthy feuds to champions reclaiming their spot at the top, these title changes could lead in several intriguing directions for the stars and company moving forward.

Here are eight potential title changes at WWE SummerSlam 2026.

8. Cody Rhodes Regains The Undisputed WWE Championship Against CM Punk

WWE stars Cody Rhodes and CM Punk

Cody Rhodes is the only man to hold the current version of the Undisputed WWE Championship more than once

At WWE Night of Champions 2026, Sami Zayn defeated Cody Rhodes and GUNTHER to win the Undisputed WWE Championship.

However, Zayn’s reign only lasted nine days when CM Punk beat him to win the Undisputed WWE Championship on the July 6 episode of Monday Night Raw from his hometown of Chicago.

After running parallel to one another and being close friends for years, Punk will now face Cody Rhodes for the title at WWE SummerSlam 2026.

Despite his run just starting, Punk could lose the gold to Rhodes at SummerSlam 2026 to keep the unpredictability that has surrounded the Undisputed WWE Championship picture as of late.

7. IYO SKY Defeats Liv Morgan To Win The Women’s World Championship

IYO SKY defeated Liv Morgan in the 2026 Queen of the Ring final

At WWE Night of Champions 2026, IYO SKY defeated Liv Morgan to win the Queen of the Ring tournament final.

‘The Genius of the Sky’ immediately made it known she will be challenging Morgan for the WWE Women’s World Championship at SummerSlam 2026.

Over the past few weeks, Morgan has been using her numbers advantage with The Judgment Day to weaken IYO’s knee ahead of their title bout.

IYO defeating Liv for the title at WWE SummerSlam 2026 could make for a cathartic moment for the fans, seeing The Judgment Day lose one of their titles at this huge show.

6. Chad Gable Finally Wins The Intercontinental Championship From Penta

Penta made his WWE debut in January 2025 with a win against Chad Gable

After being unmasked as The Original El Grande Americano at AAA Noche de Los Grandes 2026, Chad Gable has been on a redemption tour on the WWE main roster.

Following successfully making amends with the luchadors and failing to reconcile with Alpha Academy, Gable put his focus on getting back to competition and looking to finally realize his goal of winning the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

With WWE SummerSlam 2026 taking place from his hometown of Minneapolis, Gable used that motivation to defeat Rusev, Ethan Page, Je’Von Evans, Dragon Lee, Joe Hendry and Dominik Mysterio in a gauntlet to become number one contender.

Now with one of the most important matches of his career on the horizon, it feels like now is the time for Gable to finally win the big one and capture the IC Title on a huge stage like WWE SummerSlam.

5. Raquel Rodriguez Brings The Women’s Intercontinental Title To The Judgment Day From Sol Ruca

Sol Ruca retained the Women’s Intercontinental Title against Raquel Rodriguez on July 6

On the July 6 episode of Monday Night Raw, Sol Ruca defeated Raquel Rodriguez to retain the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship.

While she was able to get passed this test, Ruca came to make the save for IYO SKY against The Judgment Day following her match with Roxanne Perez on the July 13 Raw.

This led to Rodriguez physically dominating Ruca by driving her into the barricade and then powerbombing her into the ring post.

Rodriguez finally winning singles gold on the WWE main roster would be a huge moment for her and The Judgment Day at the SummerSlam 2026 premium live event.

4. Blake Monroe Captures The Women’s United States Championship from Tiffany Stratton

Blake Monroe has yet to have a match since being called up to WWE SmackDown

After weeks of vignettes teasing her arrival on the WWE main roster, Blake Monroe has been making her presence felt on Friday Night SmackDown.

Attacking the likes of Giulia, Kiana James and Chelsea Green in recent weeks, Monroe has shown that she means business and will go through anyone in front of her.

Following her most recent backstage attack on Green, it feels like WWE might be leading to Monroe challenging Chelsea’s friend Tiffany Stratton for the Women’s United States Championship.

The former Mariah May could finally get a signature win for her WWE run by overcoming Stratton for the gold come SummerSlam 2026 on August 1 or 2.

3. Alpha Academy Overcomes The Vision To Win The World Tag Team Title

Otis has previously been a tag team champion in Alpha Academy with Chad Gable, but not with Akira Tozawa

On the July 13 edition of Monday Night Raw, The Vision came out to celebrate their WWE World Tag Team Championship win the week prior, but they were interrupted by Alpha Academy.

Questioning their former friend and stablemate Maxxine Dupri after her heel turn to help The Vision, this led to Alpha Academy being chastised by Austin Theory and getting into a brawl with the group.

During this melee, Dupri showed her true colors by distracting Otis long enough for Theory to deliver a low blow before he and Bron Breakker destroyed Alpha Academy.

At WWE SummerSlam 2026, fans could see Otis and Tozawa finally overcome the odds and win the big one by getting their vengeance on The Vision by taking the WWE World Tag Team Championship.

2. Charlotte Flair Wins The WWE Women’s Championship In A Triple Threat Against Jade Cargill & Rhea Ripley

Charlotte Flair hasn’t held the current version of the WWE Women’s Championship

At WWE Clash In Italy 2026, Rhea Ripley defeated Jade Cargill to retain the WWE Women’s Championship thanks to a timely assist from Charlotte Flair.

Since that match, Ripley has been suffering from a knee injury that has had her on the shelf for the past few weeks.

Come WWE SummerSlam 2026, Ripley should be back to defend her title. The company has the chance to make some insurances for the chance that Rhea might miss the premium live event.

Considering all of their history in recent months, Ripley should defend against Cargill and Flair in a triple threat at ‘The Biggest Party of the Summer.’ This event could see Charlotte finally become a 15-time world champion in Minneapolis.

1. Seth Rollins Once Again Beats Roman Reigns To Win The World Heavyweight Championship

Seth Rollins was the inaugural holder of the current version of the World Heavyweight Championship

Looking to put an end to their decades-long rivalry, Roman Reigns will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins at WWE SummerSlam 2026.

Throughout their feud with one another since The Shield broke up, Rollins has dominated their singles meetings between him and ‘The OTC.’

Reigns wanting this match has to do with his ego and could see him finally being able to overcome his former Shield brethren.

However, Rollins regaining the World Heavyweight Championship would be fitting and continue his story with Reigns where he might not ever be able to overcome him after WWE SummerSlam 2026.
