With WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event airing on May 24, 2025, there are four matches announced for the two-hour NBC special.
While there could still be something added, the other recent SNMEs have been set at four matches, so the card may be finalized at this point.
Here are eight matches that seemed likely for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event that ended up not taking place.
8. CM Punk & Roman Reigns vs. Bron Breakker & Seth Rollins
After Paul Heyman betrayed both CM Punk and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 41 – aligning with Seth Rollins and later Bron Breakker – it seemed logical that this major match would happen at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
However, in the interim, CM Punk ended up forging an unlikely alliance with Sami Zayn and will instead be teaming with him to take on Rollins and Breakker.
With no announced appearance for Roman Reigns, it is unlikely (but not impossible) that the Tribal Chief makes an appearance for the show.
More likely, fans will have to continue to wait to see if Reigns and Punk ever align in their mutual hatred of Rollins.
