8 WWE Stars Who Should Switch Brands In The WWE Draft & Why

5. Dakota Kai – NXT To Raw

After losing an NXT Women’s Championship match to Raquel Gonzalez at TakeOver 36, there doesn’t really seem to be anywhere else for Kai to go in NXT.

She’s been there long enough and she’s good enough in the ring for a main roster move, and it seems almost inevitable at this point.

The question is how to introduce her, and, as good as she is, she does lack size and main roster credibility, so the best thing for her would probably be to put her in a tag team.

Someone she has a lot of history with is Shayna Baszler, who just split from Nia Jax, so there could be an opening there.

A pairing with Baszler would be a good way to hide Kai’s weaknesses because Baszler does have that credibility, and it would be interesting to see how they could play off of each other both in the ring and in some fun segments.

Either way, Raw would seem a better fit right now considering the issues SmackDown is currently having with its women’s division, which we’ll come back to later in this list.

4. Austin Theory – From NXT To SmackDown

You might be thinking that Austin Theory personifies everything the new era of NXT is supposed to be about.

He’s young, he has size, he has the looks – he has the potential to be a superstar.

BUT… if the new NXT is truly going to be about developing and training talent, Theory can move on. He might only be young but he’s levels above a lot of the Performance Center trainees when it comes to his skill in the ring.

He’s already extremely polished in the ring and it seems like the new NXT is going to be more about developing talent from the ground up, instead of just letting talent that can already work put on great matches.

Theory has been backstage at many WWE main roster shows throughout the past couple of months and has worked several dark matches before TV tapings in front of crowds as well, so it seems he’s at least on the list for a call-up.

The question becomes how should WWE introduce him, which they seem to be having some trouble with when it comes to recent call-ups, so why not go back to the role Theory played last year as Seth Rollins’ backup?

Rollins is stalling a little bit right now coming out of a program with Edge, and his character isn’t really going anywhere. Adding Theory as backup would give Rollins something new and would hopefully mean Theory doesn’t end up completely lost or ruined like so many other call-ups.

3. Liv Morgan – From SmackDown To Raw

When it comes to underutilised talent in WWE, Liv Morgan is one of the most blatant examples – quite possibly the single most blatant when it comes to the women’s division.

She evidently has an incredible work ethic and a unique connection with the fans, but still hasn’t been let off the leash with that big push that so many people want to see.

SmackDown seems to have had a women’s division problem in recent weeks, which was emphasised this past Friday when a planned Morgan & Toni Storm vs Carmella and Zelina Vega tag match was pulled from the show due to time constraints.

While being on Raw doesn’t guarantee TV time – just ask Dana Brooke about that – it does seem like it at least wouldn’t be a step down from Morgan’s current position on the SmackDown roster, and would give her some new faces to mix it up with.

WWE, on behalf of every human on this planet, please just do something with Liv Morgan.
