8 WWE Stars Who Need To Turn Heel

8 WWE Stars Who Need To Turn Heel

On the latest episode of Smackdown, Jey Uso turned to the dark side. After brutalising Daniel Bryan, Jey joined Roman’s family voluntarily, ‘falling in line’, and turning heel in the process.

As seen with Tomasso Ciampa, Randy Orton and now Jey, a wrestler unleashing their brutal side and turning heel can elevate them right up the card. Here are eight more WWE stars that, like Jey Uso, should turn heel.

8. Daniel Bryan

After such a definitive defeat at the hands of Jey Uso last week on SmackDown, many are wondering what’s next for Daniel Bryan. The Leader of the Yes Movement can avoid being lost in the shuffle if he revisits his savage past.

When Daniel last turned heel in 2018, his unique preachy character became a mainstay in SmackDown’s main event scene. Showing off his cruelness against the likes of Brock Lesnar and AJ Styles, it’s safe to say Bryan’s evil character is compelling.

If nothing else, it would be fun to see Daniel arguing with the virtual fans of the ThunderDome, and a heel turn could be something he considers.

7. Apollo Crews

Apollo Crews hasn’t changed his character much during his WWE run. Now he’s moved back to The Blue Brand, it’s perfect timing for Crews to have a character change.

Since his 2016 debut, many have predicted an impressive future for the former US Champion. Held back by his ‘constantly smiling’ facade, Apollo hasn’t had many opportunities to move up the card.

Apollo has just arrived to The Land of Opportunity, so why not steal one? A heel turn could strap a rocket to Crews, and give him something of substance to do on the blue brand.

6. Asuka

The Raw Women’s Champion is running out of feasible challengers. After tapping out pretty much every woman on Raw, Asuka’s reign will begin to stagnate without a big change to the red brand’s women’s division.

What could be a bigger change than The Empress of Tomorrow reviving her brutal side? Asuka’s Kabuki Warrior run is evidence enough for her to be an amazing heel champion.

The Raw women’s roster is quite shallow, so a change on this scale could revitalise the division. Is anybody ready for an even fiercer Asuka?

5. Drew McIntyre

After Hell in a Cell, many rushed to thank Drew McIntyre for over 200 days as WWE Champion. Imagine if McIntyre threw all this appreciation back, destroying the Raw roster with anger at losing the WWE Championship.

Drew returned to Raw in 2018 with the goal of eliminating complacency from WWE locker rooms. If the former WWE Champion revisited this motive, McIntyre would have a variety of new opponents.

Acting as a gatekeeper to the main event scene would be a realistic move for the Scottish Psychopath. Drew has been the MVP of WWE in 2020, so deserves to finish the year with a bang.
