9 Biggest Takeaways From Vince McMahon Interview On The Pat McAfee Show

9. His Troubled Childhood

Most of us don’t think of Vince McMahon as a human being, but actually, he is. Or at least he was at one point.

During the interview, McMahon recalled a couple of different stories about his childhood and how a troubled upbringing led him to the attitudes he lives by today.

McMahon said he grew up in an eight-foot trailer in a trailer park, and at one point, lived without running water. Quite the rags to riches story considering how many zeroes he has in his bank account right now.

He also went quite in depth talking about his education, and how he wasn’t a good student and looking back, actually thinks he “had every learning disability there was, although there were no names for them then”.

He said he got expelled plenty of times for fighting, never learned how to study, and was just overall a bad student.

He was supposed to graduate college at the same time as his wife, but his grades weren’t good enough for him to do so. So, in typical Vince McMahon fashion, he took things into his own hands.

Young Vince found out where two of his professors lived, and asked to have his grades bumped up from B+ to A-.

One of them was kind enough to oblige, but the other was not, and even threatened to call the police because McMahon had essentially invaded his home at this point, and was preventing him from shutting his own front door.

Fortunately, the professor did eventually change Vince’s grade, and he did graduate from East Carolina University with a major in Business Administration.
