With a new era kicking off in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) as the promotion settles on Max, fans should expect some changes to the roster over the course of 2025.
Throughout the company’s history, AEW has made key acquisitions from the free agency market that have shaped what the promotion looks like today.
From the likes of Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson to Swerve Strickland and Mercedes Mone, the latest batch of free agents will have a lot to live up to in order to match the past signings for the company.
Ahead of the Maximum Carnage edition of Dynamite, here are nine potential new AEW signings.
9. Matt Cardona
At ROH Final Battle, Chris Jericho defeated Matt Cardona to retain the Ring of Honor World Championship.
This finished off the latest short-term run for Cardona in All Elite Wrestling and Ring of Honor. The former Zack Ryder has made several appearances for the company since his initial debut in 2020.
While Cardona has confirmed that he never received an offer from AEW, Tony Khan should inquire about the former WWE star’s interest in creating a long term relationship between the two sides.
Cardona is an extremely talented all-around performer who can excel in the ring, on the mic and as a character in AEW, so this is a signing that could be beneficial in a lot of ways for the company.
