9 Retired WWE Stars To Return At Royal Rumble 2025 WWE

With the 38th annual WWE Royal Rumble event now just over a week away, speculation is rampant regarding which stars could potentially return in the men’s and women’s Rumble matches.

While Triple H has primarily focused on using current roster talent, one would think he’d allow returns that could build into something more later down the line.

Here are nine retired WWE stars to return at the 2025 Royal Rumble.

9. Corey Graves

One of the most intriguing situations in wrestling right now regards WWE commentary mainstay Corey Graves and his apparent unhappiness with his current role in the company.

With Michael Cole and Pat McAfee taking the commentary reins on WWE Raw on Netflix and Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett moving over to SmackDown, Graves was left to return to where he began his commentary journey almost a decade ago – NXT.

After appearing alongside the established duo of Vic Joseph and Booker T at NXT New Year’s Evil (January 7), Graves would then be seemingly pulled from the following January 14 NXT after venting his frustration on Twitter the night prior.

With uncertainty regarding whether his comments are a ‘shoot’ or ‘work’, Graves has been off TV ever since but is still a part of WWE as of now.

Even if his comments were as legitimate as they appeared, there is always a chance WWE could use the situation to tell a story on TV.

A story that could perhaps even lead to Graves returning to a WWE ring for the first time in a decade at the Royal Rumble on February 1.

Graves was medically cleared to return to the ring several years ago, so there is the possibility for a shock return in Indianapolis, something that could lead to a hot angle for WWE that blurs the lines of fiction and reality heading into WrestleMania 41.
