With several big AEW stars out of action for various reasons, there could be several returns coming soon at Revolution 2026.
From long absences to others who haven’t been seen in only a few months, several fun returns could arise in Los Angeles at the event on pay-per-view.
Here are five absent AEW stars that could return at Revolution 2026.
5. Buddy Matthews

AEW star Buddy Matthews has been out of action since suffering a complex ankle injury back at AEW Grand Slam 2025, but has recently found his name coming up.
With Swerve Strickland recently naming him as a someone he hopes to work with in the near future during an appearance on the Battleground podcast, Swerve made the important distinction that when Matthews was healthy.
Potentially coming back into action at some point in the near future, Matthews could find himself making a triumphant return at AEW Revolution.
While there hasn’t been a firm timeline for Matthews return revealed, it could be that his eventual return will come as a total surprise.
