Absent AEW Stars To Make Return

AEW

Across the AEW roster there are several names who have been off TV for quite some time for a variety of reasons.

Britt Baker’s recent return after two years away goes to show that even the unlikeliest comebacks can indeed happen, and AEW could keep the good times coming by bringing back more stars who have been off TV for a while.

Here are three absent AEW stars to potentially make their return.

Samoa Joe

Starting off with one return that is actually highly likely to be happening in the near future, and that is former two-time AEW World Champion Samoa Joe.

Joe has been away from AEW TV since May, with his last match being his Owen Hart Tournament quarterfinal loss to Will Ospreay at Double or Nothing 2026.

With filming for Twisted Metal season three taking place over the summer, Joe took a leave of absence from AEW and left The Opps in the hands of HOOK.

The group’s presence in AEW has diminished in Joe’s absence, but thankfully for The Opps their leader should be nearing a return to AEW as Twisted Metal has now wrapped up filming.

Ruby Soho

While Samoa Joe is expected back in AEW soon, it’s anybody’s guess if Ruby Soho will also be nearing a return after over two and a half years out the ring.

Soho took a break from in-ring action after announcing that she was expecting her first child with fellow AEW star Angelo Parker, but resumed in-ring training in July 2025.

In a new update that broke last month, Fightful Select revealed that Soho was cleared to make her in-ring return back in June, so there’s more reasons than ever to be hopeful that Soho could make her comeback.

Being one of the most experienced women’s wrestlers in the locker room, the AEW roster will certainly be better off when Soho returns to the fold.

Kamille

After being gone from AEW television for 18 months, Kamille made her unexpected return in April at the Dynasty pay-per-view by ambushing TBS Champion Willow Nightingale.

‘The Brickhouse’ would then unsuccessfully challenge Nightingale for the title days later on AEW Dynamite, before once again vanishing from the company.

It’s not known what Kamille’s current status is, and whether she will be seen again in 2026, but there is a potential storyline for her on TV now that Mercedes Moné is AEW World Champion.

Much like she did for ‘The CEO’ when she was TBS Champion, Kamille could play the role of Moné’s bodyguard once again. While things ended badly between them two years ago, it would at least get Kamille back on AEW programming on a consistent basis, and that’s all fans of her want to see.
