Since its inception in 2019 AEW has produced an abundance of factions, and five years on things are no different.
While some of these groups remain healthy as ever, others have shown signs of potentially splitting up soon. Whether that be an impending babyface/heel turn, injury absences or a potential AEW exit looming – we could soon see many group’s cease to exist by the year’s end.
Here are six AEW factions to split up soon.
6. House of Black
Buddy Matthews recently said during a K&S WrestleFest virtual signing hat he doesn’t envision the House of Black having a proper break-up, as seen with many other units.
Instead, he said, the quartet will remain on the same page even if they go their separate ways and pursue singles gold.
While that may be the case, what does potentially call their long-term health into question is the future of the group’s frontman Malakai Black, with reports earlier this year suggesting his AEW contract is up as soon as next year.
With a WWE return potentially on the cards should Black choose to depart AEW, that would potentially pose the end for the House of Black. What ranks this lower on the list is Matthews re-signing with AEW recently and there being no signs of Brody King or Julia Hart leaving also, meaning the group very well could continue on, even without their leader.
