With The Hurt Syndicate now holding the AEW World Tag Team Championship, the entire tag team division has been put on notice.
While there are plenty of existing duos that will undoubtedly step up to the plate for the gold, there are other talents who may form a new tag team to compete with Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin.
From former champions solidifying their alliance to factions firmly establishing themselves in the title picture, the tag team division could be about to get very interesting.
Here are six potential new AEW tag teams.
6. The Dream Team (Kenny Omega & Will Ospreay)
At the AEW Grand Slam Australia event, Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay defeated the Don Callis Family’s Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher.
Following their victory, Omega and Ospreay made separate challenges to Takeshita and Fletcher for the upcoming Revolution pay-per-view.
After the spectacular teamwork displayed by the duo, this “Dream Team” of Omega and Ospreay should be something revisited down the line and see them become a major tag team in AEW.
Omega’s past history in superteams with the likes of Hangman Adam Page and Kota Ibushi should inspire optimism from the fans that this new pairing with “The Aerial Assassin” could capture the same magic.
