Since 2019, many AEW stars have made the move from WWE to Tony Khan’s company with great success, while others have not fared so well.
Whether a talent has enjoyed their time in AEW or not, if someone has previous ties to WWE it is always a possibility they make their return to the company.
With WWE in the middle of a boom period, it’s easy to see many former stars having their heads turned when their contracts with AEW come up.
Here are nine AEW stars to return to WWE.
9. Dustin Rhodes
There are few AEW stars on the roster with a more uncertain future than Dustin Rhodes right now.
Yes, despite The Natural currently holding two pieces of ROH gold, his contract was reportedly set to expire in September.
There’s not been any new updates on whether a new deal was agreed since then, and while the former Goldust has made public his happiness in AEW it’s not difficult to see him returning to WWE.
With his brother Cody Rhodes currently THE face of the company, there are plenty stories that could be told if Dustin chooses to join him. Even if he’s instead brought in for a behind-the-scenes role, Dustin’s experience is invaluable and he would be huge loss for AEW.
