With AEW Forbidden Door 2025 set for London’s O2 arena on Sunday, August 24 – there have been some changes made to the card.

While there were plenty of speculated matches set for the official show, now that the card is coming together it seems that several potential bouts have ended up scrapped.

Here are six AEW Forbidden Door 2025 matches that seemed likely but ended up canceled. 

6. MJF vs. Mistico

While a growing feud between MJF and CMLL star Mistico has been building for awhile, their showdown is not set to come to a climax at AEW Forbidden Door 2025.

Instead, MJF will have a massive match against Hangman Adam Page for the AEW World Heavyweight Championship.

In stipulations added on the Dynamite before Forbidden Door, it was confirmed that the title could change hands via DQ, via count-out but perhaps most notably – MJF is not required to utilize the World title contract he won at AEW All In Texas.

That doesn’t mean however that the score has been settled between MJF and Mistico, rather with the duo set to face off with MJF putting his CMLL World Light Heavyweight Championship on the line vs. Mistico’s mask at the upcoming CMLL 91st Anniversary show.
