Since losing the ROH World Championship at AEW Dynasty, Chris Jericho has been absent from AEW television with no signs of his return happening anytime soon.
With Jericho’s AEW contract about to expire later this year, it might be time for Tony Khan to consider a replacement for Jericho as an elder statesman, a reliable veteran and legendary name on his roster.
Here are eight potential AEW replacements for Chris Jericho.
8. Christian Cage
Debuting in All Elite Wrestling back in 2021, Christian Cage was viewed by many as one of the biggest free agent signings in the company’s history.
Paying massive dividends for the promotion over the past four years, Cage has been a reliable heel that has done some of the best work of his storied career.
Working as a mentor for younger talent like Jack Perry and Nick Wayne throughout his tenure thus far, Christian can continue to bestow knowledge to the roster and help AEW grow further.
If there is anyone who could fill many of Jericho’s same roles as a legend, a consistent heel and elder statesman, it is Christian Cage that could make the most seamless transition of them all.
