On the October 1 Sixth Anniversary edition of AEW Dynamite, Hangman Adam Page and The Opps defeated The Death Riders. Post match, Samoa Joe became irritated with Page after the champion aggressively handed him his AEW World Trios Title belt and dropped it.

Feeling disrespected and not respecting Page as the AEW World Champion due to never beating him, Joe saw clearly for the first time in weeks and set the course for him to challenge for the AEW World Title.

With Hangman offering this shot to the challenger at AEW WrestleDream, Joe will come in looking to prove himself right by once again beating “The Cowboy.”
