6 CM Punk Plans Following Drew McIntyre Quitting WWE

6 CM Punk Plans Following Drew McIntyre Quitting WWE WWE

On this week’s Raw (June 17) we saw Drew McIntyre quit WWE after CM Punk cost him the World Heavyweight Championship at Clash at the Castle in Glasgow, Scotland.

With McIntyre recently penning a three-year contract extension with the company, it’s highly unlikely this is anything but a storyline, however, we don’t know for sure how long McIntyre will be gone for.

While most fans would have thought that Punk vs. McIntyre would be coming soon, there is always the chance that WWE delay the match and make way for different plans.

If that proves to be the case then Punk will need something else to do in the meantime, especially if reports are to be believed and his in-ring return is drawing closer.

So, let’s take a look at 6 CM Punk plans following Drew McIntyre’s WWE walkout.

6. Match With Wade Barrett

This suggestion sure would’ve seemed farfetched just a few days ago, but following Wade Barrett’s recent barrage of angry tweets post-Clash at the Castle it seems at least somewhat plausible that a match between he and Punk could happen.

Barrett hasn’t competed inside a ring in eight years, hanging up his boots upon his exit from WWE in 2016.

At 43-years-old however, he’s still two years younger than CM Punk, which is kinda crazy to think about – there’s surely still some gas in the tank for the former Intercontinental Champion.

He certainly seems content at commentary, but his comments had to have been made for a reason right?

If Punk’s health allows it a match with Barrett at Money in the Bank would serve as a perfect prelude for the Best in the World’s eventual war with McIntyre.
