8. Shinsuke Nakamura – Free Agent Sometime In 2019
Despite a lacklustre run (thus far) with WWE, Nakamura is widely regarded as a legendary figure in the industry.
In 2016, Nakamura left New Japan Pro-Wrestling, along with former Bullet Club members Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, and AJ Styles. Many speculated that he would likely immediately feud with the trio in WWE. However, he instead placed in NXT whilst the others bypassed the black and gold brand entirely.
Now a member of the SmackDown brand, Nakamura’s three-year WWE stint hasn’t been very fruitful – despite being a two-time United States Champion and winning the 2018 Royal Rumble.
If he were to return to Japan in the near future, he’d immediately be one of NJPW’s big-name players. With the loss of Cody, Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks, I’m projecting he’ll rejoin NJPW later this year and have classics with the likes of Okada, Ibushi and Naito.
Prediction: Goes back to NJPW
