Eight WWE Stars Who Should Breakout In 2021

6. Peyton Royce

Without any shadow of doubt, the most nonsensical decision that WWE has made since the start of the pandemic was the decision to break-up The IIconics.

Reports at the time suggested this was being done to give Peyton Royce a singles push, but since she has done nothing of note and is now just wasting away in a meaningless tag team with Lacey Evans on Raw.

It has been widely reported that Peyton Royce is a fan favourite backstage, with a recent report saying that nearly all writers asked said she was someone that could really make the most of a push if given the opportunity.

Let’s hope that WWE higher-ups listen to that advice, as Peyton is brilliant on the mic and has greatly improved in the ring, and could be a great fixture of the women’s division on either Raw or SmackDown if booked properly. Let’s hope 2021 is the year we see that.

5. Grizzled Young Veterans

The pandemic really hurt the pushes of Grizzled Young Veterans, who were seemingly shaping up to make the move from NXT UK to regular NXT at the beginning of the year, something that was abruptly dropped due to the health crisis.

However, as we approach the end of 2020, Grizzled Young Veterans have re-debuted in NXT and it seems like 2021 could be the year that Zack Gibson and James Drake show why they are one of the best tag teams in the world.

Not only are the pair brilliant in the ring, but Zack Gibson is probably one of the best talkers in WWE right now, and he’ll be a fantastic heel when fans hopefully return at some stage in 2021.

2020 was not a great year for NXT tag teams, but Zack Gibson and James Drake will be fantastic additions to that division as we head into 2021, and have all the potential to be the team to breakout next year.

4.  Keith Lee

2020 has frankly been an up-and-down year for Keith Lee. He started the year with a great showing in the men’s Royal Rumble match, and went on to win the NXT Championship in a brilliant match with Adam Cole.

He dropped the title shortly after and was sent up to the main roster, where he was inserted straight into the main event scene on Raw, defeating Randy Orton clean on PPV just six days after becoming a new member of the Raw roster.

Since then, with the exception of a good showing at Survivor Series last month, Keith Lee has not really done anything, and a loss on Raw to serial losers The Miz and John Morrison means things don’t look great for the Raw star right now.

However, Keith Lee still has all the makings of a future WWE Champion, and reports suggest he is being considered for a big WrestleMania match with Brock Lesnar and Drew McIntyre in 2021, as well as speculation that he is going to turn heel.

With Lee reportedly going back to the PC this week, let’s hope that this is just a case of higher-ups wanting him to iron out a few cracks before a massive main event push and breakout year next year, as opposed to them somehow seeing nothing in him.
