I need to clarify something. Randy Orton has actually only WON thirteen world championships. He’s had 14 reigns, but he only won 13 of them.
His first WWE Championship reign began back at No Mercy in 2007. Current champion John Cena was on a reign that lasted over a year, before he went down with an injury which was, in kayfabe, credited to a Randy Orton RKO.
Vince McMahon himself opened up that weekend’s No Mercy pay-per-view, announced that Cena was injured, and simply handed Randal Keith his first WWE Championship.
Orton lost the title to Triple H right away, but did end up winning it back by the end of the night in a match you’ll see later on in this list.
