Every Title Change At WWE WrestleMania 42 WWE

WWE WrestleMania 42 will feature quite a few title matches with most of the champions looking to make their mark on the biggest show of the year.

While it might not be possible for all of the titles to change hands, Mania should see many of the championships switching over the course of the two-night premium live event.

After weeks and months of build, “The Show of Shows” could see new champions being crowned that will completely alter the landscape of the company moving forward.

Here are every potential title change at WWE WrestleMania 42.

8. Liv Morgan becomes the new WWE Women’s World Champion against Stephanie Vaquer

At WWE Royal Rumble 2026, Liv Morgan won the Women’s Royal Rumble Match and punched her ticket for a shot at the WWE Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania 42.

Over the past few weeks, things have gotten intense between Morgan and the champion Stephanie Vaquer.

From trading barbs about each other’s individual journeys to brutal attacks, these two women have held nothing back, showing their disdain for one another.

While Vaquer has made for a more than capable champion, it feels like the right time for Morgan to defeat “La Primera” at WrestleMania 42 and bring the WWE Women’s World Championship back to The Judgment Day.

7. Trick Williams wins his first main roster title by dethroning Sami Zayn for the United States Championship

Trick Williams was officially called up to the WWE main roster in January

Ever since moving up from WWE NXT to the main roster, Trick Williams has been trying to put his name on the map at the expense of Sami Zayn.

Interrupting Zayn on his first night on Friday Night SmackDown, Williams has shown full confidence in himself and let it be known that he will be a champion.

After interference from Trick, Sami Zayn defeated Carmelo Hayes to become the new United States Champion on the March 27 episode of SmackDown.

Now that their match is official, Trick has everything it takes to finally put Zayn down and capture his first singles title on the main roster by taking the United States Championship at WrestleMania 42.

6. Bayley & Lyra Valkyria capture the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships against The Irresistible Forces, The Bellas Twins and Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss

Over the past few months, the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships picture has become one of the most hotly contested divisions in the entire company.

The Irresistible Forces have been dealing with a litany of different challengers, including Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, Bayley and Lyra Valkyria and The Bella Twins.

This has set the stage for a four-way match to determine who walks out of WrestleMania 42 with the tag titles.

While Nia Jax and Lash Legend have been dominant champions since capturing the gold, Bayley and Lyra feel like the most determined to right the wrong of last year’s WrestleMania 41 when Bayley was denied her spot on the card this year in Las Vegas.

5. Becky Lynch becomes a record three-time WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion against AJ Lee

In September 2025, AJ Lee made her return to WWE for the first time in a decade and has been making Becky Lynch’s life a living hell ever since.

After making her tap out twice in 2025, Lee did it for a third time when she defeated Lynch to win the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship at Elimination Chamber 2026.

Following an attack from “The Man,” a rematch was made official between these two legends. Becky has shown that AJ has gotten under her skin considering her own daughter seems to be a fan of the current IC Champion.

Being more determined than ever before, Becky could be vicious enough to finally get the job done and win back the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship for a third time at WrestleMania 42.

4. Je’Von Evans wins the WWE Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match against Penta, Rusev, JD McDonagh, Dragon Lee and Rey Mysterio

On the March 30 episode of WWE Raw, Penta announced that he will defend the Intercontinental Championship in a Ladder Match at WrestleMania 42.

After a series of qualifying matches on WWE Main Event, the field seemed almost set with Rusev, JD McDonagh, Dragon Lee and Je’Von Evans all moving on to Mania.

However, Rey Mysterio joined the fray after a few months on the sidelines to become the sixth and final competitor in this bout.

Being the youngest competitor in this high risk Ladder Match, Evans could have the agility and skills to overcome the rest of the field to win the Intercontinental Championship for his first singles title in WWE on “The Grandest Stage of Them All.”

3. Rhea Ripley beats Jade Cargill to win the WWE Women’s Championship

At the WWE Elimination Chamber 2026 premium live event, Rhea Ripley defeated Tiffany Stratton, Raquel Rodriguez, Kiana James, Asuka and Alexa Bliss to win the Women’s Elimination Chamber Match to advance to WrestleMania 42.

Getting a shot at the WWE Women’s Championship, this set up a showdown between Ripley and Jade Cargill in a first time ever meeting.

Since then, Cargill has aligned herself with Michin and B-Fab, looking to beat down Ripley at every turn.

However, Rhea could be the most formidable and toughest contender Cargill has ever faced, which could lead to her losing the gold at “The Showcase of the Immortals.”

2. Randy Orton becomes a 15-time world champion by defeating Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship

Randy Orton would move up to third in all time WWE World Title victories if he wins his 15th at WrestleMania

After winning the Men’s Elimination Chamber Match at WWE Elimination Chamber 2026, Randy Orton had his sights on the Undisputed WWE Championship, but things would change before his eyes.

Cody Rhodes defeated Drew McIntyre to win the Undisputed WWE Championship on the March 6 episode of Friday Night SmackDown. This led to a shocking betrayal where Orton turned his back on Rhodes with a bloody beatdown.

Since then, Orton has revealed Pat McAfee as his mystery caller that has helped him realize the “killer” that he really is.

Orton defeating Rhodes with help from McAfee would give WrestleMania 42 another memorable moment as “The Legend Killer” captures his elusive 15th world title in the company.

1. Roman Reigns dethrones CM Punk to become the new World Heavyweight Champion

CM Punk and Roman Reigns will clash in the main event of WrestleMania for the second straight year

Roman Reigns won his second Men’s Royal Rumble Match by outlasting 29 other men at WWE Royal Rumble 2026 and punching his ticket for the main event of WrestleMania 42.

It did not take long before Reigns chose CM Punk to face for the World Heavyweight Championship at the event or for things to get extremely personal between the two men.

While Punk has gotten the better of “The OTC” a few different times, it feels like Reigns could find his way back at the top of WWE one way or another at “The Show of Shows.”

With The Usos not too far behind him, Reigns could have what it takes to dethrone Punk and become the new World Heavyweight Champion in Las Vegas at Mania on April 19.
