Every WrestleMania Ever Ranked

20. WrestleMania XIV

An inconsistent show this was. Almost flipping between good matches and bad ones, this show is remembered for the important parts.

Triple H vs. Owen Hart was quite good, Sable & Marc Mero vs. Luna & Goldust was surprisingly not bad, and Cactus Jack & Terry Funk vs. The New Age Outlaws was a ton of fun. But of course, this show is remembered solely for the coronation of ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin as WWF Champion. Austin defeated Shawn Michaels in the main event to win the title for the first time and Mike Tyson counted the pinfall. The match wasn’t fantastic but the moment was iconic. As Jim Ross said, “the Austin era has begun!”

19. WrestleMania 2000

Another peak Attitude Era show. This show had a lot happening, and none of it involved straight singles matches. Amongst the noise on this show, there were a number of gems.

The main event was interesting as a McMahon stood in each corner and a heel won for the first time ever. Meanwhile, Chris Jericho vs. Chris Benoit vs. Kurt Angle was a solid triple threat match, the Radicalz match was fun, but the true highlight was the Triangle Ladder match. The Hardys vs. The Dudleys vs. Edge & Christian was a match that changed pro wrestling. A step up from the Hardys vs. Edge & Christian Ladder match from No Mercy the year prior, this match was death-defying and exciting.

People knew they had seen something special with this match and it was the beginning of many things to come.

18. WrestleMania X8

The Attitude Era hangover had begun by the time this one rolled around. Steve Austin had gone through a failed heel turn, the Invasion was a disaster, and things were just a little less fun than they used to be.

Not everything was a downer on this show, as The Rock and Hulk Hogan put on a magical performance. The Toronto crowd reveled in Hulkamania once again despite Hogan’s loss. Undertaker and Ric Flair had a solid match, which helped Flair find some of his mojo and while the main event is not remembered as a great match, Chris Jericho and Triple H put on a decent show.

Rock and Hogan stole the show but this was a watchable event that had its moments throughout.

17. WrestleMania 35

It is hard to properly rank some of the most recent WrestleManias because they all suffer from the same flaw. They are too damn long. The first half of WrestleMania 35 was not a bad show. They started off hot with Seth Rollins beating Brock Lesnar in quick fashion and followed that up with a few decent matches.

Things peaked with Daniel Bryan vs. Kofi Kingston. It was the match everyone was most excited for and it was the match that delivered. Easily the best match on the show, Kingston defeated Bryan to win the WWE Championship. It was an emotional end to an engaging story and the pinnacle of an otherwise drab show.

The problem is the show kept going from here. Nothing that went on after this match came close to matching its quality and when the show ended it was after midnight. Yes, women main eventing the show was a very cool moment but when you have to work the next day it takes some of the fun out of it.

16. WrestleMania 34

Just as WrestleMania 32 went far too long and exhausted its audience by the end, this show was just as bad if not worse.

This was an ungodly long show with fourteen matches in total. Some were very good such as Charlotte vs. Asuka, and Kurt Angle & Ronda Rousey vs. Triple H vs. Stephanie McMahon, but many of the matches felt thrown together for the sake of having more people on the show. Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns was a mess of a main event. The crowd turned on the match hard and it resembled two WWE2k19 characters mashing finishers on each other. Also Braun Strowman won the tag team titles with a nine year-old as his partner.

Sometimes less is indeed more.
