Every WWE TLC Match RANKED

20. Kabuki Warriors vs. Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair – TLC 2019

Star Rating: 2.25 stars

2019 was not a good year for TLC matches. In addition to the dud that was Reigns vs. Corbin, we also got a tag team TLC match for the Women’s Tag Team Championship. On paper, this match should be great. All four of these women are good workers but this was an example of a match going off the rails.

Kairi Sane was concussed during the match and everything fell apart afterwards. Not nearly as polished or as smooth as you would hope from a match like this, the Kabuki Warriors retained the titles in a match that should have been much better.

19. Randy Orton vs. John Cena – TLC 2013

Star Rating: 3.25 stars

The rivalry that would just never end. John Cena and Randy Orton had extended rivalries in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2013, and 2014. Pretty impressive considering they had maybe two really good pay per view matches together out of what felt like dozens.

One of the most forgettable ones was their TLC match in 2013. The fact that it is forgettable is particularly alarming as this was the match that unified the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships after 11 years. Unfortunately, no one really remembers it. Technically sound, but this match offered little that people hadn’t seen before. Historically significant, yes, but memorable is another question.

18. DX vs. Jeri-Show – TLC 2009

Star Rating: 3.50 stars

The main event of the first TLC pay per view, DX took on Jeri-Show for the Unified Tag Team Championships. While Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho have had more experience with ladders than their partners, this was far from the spectacle of past TLC matches. That doesn’t mean it was bad, however, as the veterans put on a more story-based match.

There was a duel with chairs, Jericho stood on Big Show’s shoulders, and Michaels climbed half a ladder. It was all good fun and it brought about the end of one of the best tag title runs in recent memory.

17. Edge vs. The Undertaker – One Night Stand 2008

Star Rating: 3.50 stars

Edge was the undisputed master of the TLC match during his first tenure with WWE. After picking up many wins in years past, he challenged The Undertaker for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship at One Night Stand 2008. As is the case with many of the better TLC matches, there was outside interference.

This allows more bodies to be put through tables and thus make the match more exciting. The Undertaker disposed of Zack Ryder, Curt Hawkins, Chavo Guerrero and Bam Neely (remember him?) before Edge tipped him off the ladder through a stack of tables at ringside. Not the best TLC match, but a good time.

16. Dean Ambrose vs. Bray Wyatt – Tables, Ladders, Chairs and Stairs 2014

Star Rating: 3.75 stars

This match undoubtedly has the stupidest finish of any TLC match in history. Ambrose grabbed a big monitor to try and hit Bray Wyatt with it (because all the tables, ladders, and chairs aren’t enough you see) and as he ran at Wyatt the monitor hit a snag because it was still plugged in. Ambrose stopped dead in his tracks and the whole crowd just laughed at him.

He then attempted to yank the cord loose and the monitor exploded in his hands. Bray Wyatt then hit Sister Abigail and pinned him. It’s crap like this that made it impossible for Dean Ambrose to get over following the Shield breakup. Ugh. Next match please.
