During Ilja Dragunov’s United States Championship run, his most fierce rival and challenger had to have been Tommaso Ciampa.
On the December 12 episode of WWE SmackDown, Dragunov defeated Ciampa to retain the US Title in a bloody battle.
Now that “The Mad Dragon” has lost the gold, Ciampa might feel like it is the right time for him to get another opportunity.
After screwing him out of his previous title shot against Dragunov two months ago, Ciampa could challenge Carmelo Hayes and give him just as tough of a match as he gave the previous champion before him.
