Five Matches We Need To See At Evolution II

3. Asuka (c) vs. Kairi Sane – Raw Women’s Championship

It was reported this week that back in May, WWE was planning on having Kairi Sane move back to Japan and take on the role as an ambassador for WWE in her home country.

However, it has since been reported that the former NXT Women’s and WWE Tag Team Champion’s return to Japan may not be “set in stone”, with WWE looking to keep her as an in-ring talent.

If the initial report of Sane returning to Japan is to be believed, then she deserves a proper send-off, and a match with her former tag team partner Asuka seems the perfect way to wrap up her WWE in-ring career.

Sane and Asuka have never gone one-on-one, and the match with two former NXT Women’s Champions has the potential of having is rather exciting. A clash over the Raw Women’s Championship at Evolution seems like the perfect option

With Asuka already defeating Nia Jax and Charlotte Flair, and Shayna Baszler and Bianca Belair continuing to be ignored by WWE, it seems like a match with Sane may be one of the biggest, freshest and best that Asuka could have right now.

2. Charlotte Flair vs. Tessa Blanchard

This match is probably the least likely to happen next month, but it’s probably the biggest women’s match WWE could book right now, with Becky Lynch pregnant and out of action.

Firstly, Charlotte Flair is reportedly taking an “extended break” with some reports suggesting she won’t be back until 2021. However, if Evolution II is happening, I don’t think WWE is going to not have Flair be part of the show.

Secondly, as far as we know, Tessa Blanchard isn’t even signed with WWE right now. However, it has been reported that they are very interested in bringing her in, and if that is true, there is no bigger way to debut her than at Evolution II. It has even been reported that this is the plan.

I got a bit of stick on Twitter recently for saying that Tessa Blanchard vs. Charlotte Flair had the potential to main event a WrestleMania, but I stick by that. Regardless of what you think of Tessa, there is no denying that her star power is likely only rivaled/bettered by “The Queen”.

If Tessa does sign, debuting her as a mystery opponent for a match at Evolution with Charlotte Flair is certainly the best and right way to do things.

1. Bayley (c) vs. Sasha Banks – SmackDown Women’s Championship

If Evolution II does happen next month, then Bayley vs. Sasha Banks for the SmackDown Women’s Championship NEEDS to not only take place on the show, but main event the whole pay-per-view.

Bayley and Sasha have been doing some exceptional work in recent months as a heel tag team, and while their act is entertaining, there is far more money in a singles feud between the two talented workers.

It has been speculated that WWE could book Bayley vs. Banks for SummerSlam, but if Evolution II is happening the week after, I’d certainly wait seven days and have this match main event the show.

Many of you probably expected this match to be on this list when you clicked it, and it may be obvious, but that’s because it’s 100% the right thing to do and something that WWE has to be considering.
