Since being reintroduced to WWE in 2003, the United States Championship has been held by a who’s who of top end talent.
While many of the stars are still part of the company, there are quite a few that are currently free agents available on the market or could become free to sign elsewhere in the future.
From TNA Wrestling and All Elite Wrestling to available talent, there are any number of United States Champions who could return at some point down the line.
Here are six former United States Champions to potentially re-sign with WWE.
6. Matt Cardona
After being released from WWE in 2020, many fans believed that Matt Cardona would be back in no time and didn’t expect the heights he could achieve outside of the company.
Over the course of the past five years, Cardona has become one of the top stars and draws on the independent scene.
Capturing gold in GCW, TNA Wrestling, NWA and more, the former WWE United States Champion completely reinvented himself in a major way.
Cardona eventually re-signing with WWE is something that he has discussed on many occasions and could happen sooner rather than later.
