WWE
NXT has produced a who’s who of top WWE stars since Triple H’s black & gold era of the brand first began over a decade ago.
While a majority of the company’s top current names passed through NXT on their way to superstardom, there is also a great deal of former NXT greats that have instead left WWE and found success elsewhere.
Here are six former WWE stars to potentially re-sign with NXT.
6. Mustafa Ali

Two years on from his release from the company in 2023, Mustafa Ali made his return to the company via the NXT & TNA partnership in October.
Losing to Ethan Page after an excellent NXT North American Championship bout, Ali has yet to appear on WWE again since.
However, with his contract reportedly set to expire at the end of the year, perhaps WWE could look to re-sign him on a full-time basis?
Certainly someone with a lot of unfinished business in WWE and untapped potential, Ali could become a top star for NXT or even the main roster in 2026.
