WWE
While most returning former WWE stars end up back on the main roster, others would be best suited for NXT.
From returning stars that have a built-in storyline currently running in the Performance Center, to another known fan favorite that could be an asset to the next generation — there are numerous former WWE stars that could return to the company but re-signed to NXT.
Here are six former WWE stars that could sign with NXT.
6. Matt Cardona (Zack Ryder)

After making a main roster return as Zack Ryder on SmackDown in the Last Time is Now tournament — there is still a path forward for Matt Cardona in NXT.
Having recently appeared in NXT for a singles bout, it could be the best use of Cardona’s talents to join the NXT roster.
Able to have fun and somewhat silly interactions with plenty of the current on-screen characters, there is certainly already a built-in storyline for him on the brand.
With his real-life wife Chelsea Green having formed an on-screen partnership with Ethan Page, there would be no better performers to have an over-the-top rivalry than Page and Cardona.
