With an impressive list of legendary names that have held the WWE Tag Team Championship, there could be some returning.

From pairs that seem very likely to return to a WWE Hall of Famer who could make his way back — there are some intriguing options of who may make a reappearance in the future.

Here are seven former WWE tag team champions that could re-sign with the company in the future.

7. Matt & Jeff Hardy

The legendary tag team of Matt and Jeff Hardy made history again recently when they captured the NXT Tag Team titles for the first time in their careers.

Holding both the TNA Wrestling and NXT Tag Team Championship, the Hardy Boyz took on old foes the Dudley Boyz (D-Von & Bubba Ray Dudley) in tag team action at TNA Bound For Glory on October 12.

Dropping the NXT tag titles back to the DarkState duo of Dion Lennox & Osiris Griffin, Matt and Jeff Hardy could be making their next WWE appearance back on the main roster.

With the pair having previously revealed that their current contracts with TNA Wrestling end in November 2025 — the Hardy Boyz could be back in WWE action soon.
