Shawn Michaels is expected to wrestle more than once after his return to the ring at Crown Jewel, with Survivor Series being discussed as one possible event for this to take place. Now that he is open to a return, WWE want to place Michaels in a series of ‘dream matches’ against opponents such as AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan.
Michaels may not be the only veteran from the past returning at Crown Jewel. Speculation is mounting that Steve Austin, The Rock and Hulk Hogan will all be involved in some capacity as well.
Sasha Banks absence is not from an injury but from an undisclosed “medical issue”. WWE is refusing to give any further information at this time.
Drew McIntyre is expected to split from Dolph Ziggler within the next few months and receive a major singles push. McIntyre is pencilled in as a challenger to Roman Reigns for the Universal Title later in the year.
Dean Ambrose was set to turn heel on The Shield prior to his injury last year. Although plans may have changed, this is still the likely direction that WWE intend to go.
New Japan star YOSHI-HASHI was taken to hospital following Destruction In Kobe with minor injuries. He did not hurt himself wrestling but tripping on the way to the ring while doing a run-in in the Kazuchika Okada-Hiroshi Tanahashi main event.
The introduction of the Women’s Tag Team Titles is considered a case of “when” not “if”, with the title belts already designed and an announcement expected shortly.
Vince McMahon was high on many aspects of this week’s Raw. Not only did he enjoy the tag title bout between The Revival and champions Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler but he also really liked the main event.
Some WrestleMania matches being loosely discussed include Roman Reigns vs. The Rock, The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels, Andrade Almas vs. Rey Mysterio, Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair and Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose.
SmackDown GM Paige was backstage at Raw filming for a Survivor Series commercial, with the theme of the pay-per-view once again expected to be Raw vs. SmackDown.
The Undertaker was also backstage doing a photo shoot. There were no plans for him to appear on the show but he will appear on next week’s Raw along with Shawn Michaels to hype Super Showdown.
