WWE
On the January 12 edition of WWE Monday Night Raw, GUNTHER defeated AJ Styles by using a phantom tap out and a low blow.
Wanting a rematch, Styles wanted “The Ring General” to name the stakes and was asked to put his career on the line for a match at WWE Royal Rumble 2026, which he accepted.
If GUNTHER is able to win and retire another legend like he did to John Cena and Goldberg, it will be interesting to see who is next for the man they call “The Career Killer.”
Here are eight potential GUNTHER WWE opponents after AJ Styles’ retirement.
8. Rey Mysterio

GUNTHER and Rey Mysterio are no strangers to one another, having faced each other for the Intercontinental Championship in the past.
The legendary luchador is someone who still looks almost as good as he did in his prime now at 51 years of age.
While he has accomplished everything possible in his WWE career, Mysterio is still going strong and could make for a formidable opponent for the former World Heavyweight Champion.
Wanting to retire yet another WWE Hall of Famer, GUNTHER could target Mysterio next in his path to end the career of every legend on the roster today.
