Impact Results and Review: Raven Helps Eddie Edwards

Ethan Page qualifies for Ultimate X by beating Matt Sydal

Ethan Page wins the battle of the 3rd eyes.  This was a fairly good TV match.  Sydal’s been mentoring Ethan Page in his path to enlightenment.  The student beats the teacher in this match.  However, it appears they are still on the same page for now.

Sydal’s been losing a lot lately.  Each week, I’m waiting on him to snap and let Ethan Page have it.  Not this week, and “All Ego” Ethan Page is on to the Ultimate X match.

I’m interested to see how Page does at Homecoming.  Will he be able to scale the ropes at his size?  I think he will definitely bring some power to the match for some pretty entertaining spots.  Ethan Page doesn’t figure to win.  His loss will probably play into the storyline of how these two will ultimately implode.

Raven Helps Eddie Edwards Escape Shady Acres

Because he’s Luke Owen’s favorite wrestler, we had to include this as part of the review.  They discuss Eddie’s placement at Shady Acres over a game of chess.  Eddie feels he doesn’t belong in an insane asylum.  Raven agrees.  Basically, Raven said Eddie hasn’t gone far enough.  After stealing a key card, Raven gives it to Eddie for Eddie to escape.

Raven…wow!  Now, we know why he doesn’t remember meeting Luke.  He’s gone insane.  We know it’s going to be Eddie versus Moose at Homecoming, so the insane asylum was a short stop to take up a couple of weeks of programming.  It gets Raven a chance to be on TV.  I wouldn’t be surprised to see more of him.

The show in January is called Homecoming.  It’s in Nashville.  The Impact Asylum is a place where Raven ruled TNA and held the NWA World Title.  The vignette included Raven saying Eddie owed him something.  I imagine that will be some kind of match in the future.

Backstage Segments

We got several other backstage segments tonight.  Eli Drake finds out he’ll be facing Abyss in a Monster’s Ball match at Homecoming.  He’s livid.  Eli’s great.  Abyss probably goes over here as this show is named Homecoming.

We also see Katarina introducing us to Ruby Raze.  Ruby’s her new ally and Jordynne Grace’s newest enemy.  It looks like they are continuing their feud.

Scarlett Bordeaux interrupts the Rascalz chill session.  She says she was impressed with them last week. I don’t think she fits with them, but I am enjoying their segments.

We see a short segment promoting the LAX vs. Lucha Bros match at Homecoming.  Konnan wants them to promise they’ll keep it civil.  After some back and forth trash talking, pushing starts.  Konnan is upset and storms off.  Not sure where this is headed, but these four will put on an incredible match.
