On the November 5 episode of AEW Dynamite, the company announced the introduction of a brand new title, the AEW National Championship.

Looking to follow the tradition of the past title introduced in the NWA on Turner Sports in the 1980s, there will be a Casino Gauntlet to crown the first ever champion at AEW Full Gear 2025 on November 22.

With stars entering the match and other names sure to take part, there could be any number of potential winners that will get fans interested into another championship introduced by All Elite Wrestling.

Here are nine potential options to become the inaugural AEW National Champion.

9. Ricochet

Over the past few months, Ricochet has assembled the Gates of Agony to form The Demand on AEW television.

The group came together with the expressed goal of winning each member championship gold for the first time in All Elite Wrestling.

A decorated champion wherever he has appeared, Ricochet has gone well over a year in the company without winning a title and needs to change that sooner rather than later.

Now that he has entered the Casino Gauntlet, Ricochet should be seen as someone who could instantly make the AEW National Championship mean something and is not shy to show up in other promotions to establish the new title.
