2025 has been centered on the story surrounding John Cena’s WWE retirement tour that will conclude at the end of the year.
While the focus has been squarely on Cena’s heel turn and his ongoing Undisputed WWE Championship reign, there has been much conversation on who his final opponent will be.
With reports and rumors indicating that the company is planning to visit Boston for a major show in December, the show may very well be the final match of Cena’s career, so WWE should have a big time opponent in line for the legendary star.
Here are eight potential John Cena final WWE opponents.
8. Cody Rhodes
At WrestleMania 41 Night Two, John Cena defeated Cody Rhodes to win the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Setting the record with his 17th world title reign, Cena has started a run that is much different from all his other ones and increased the intensity of his rivalry with Rhodes.
After Cody pinned Cena in a tag team main event at WWE Money In The Bank 2025, this should put “The American Nightmare” on a path to get a rematch against the current Undisputed WWE Champion.
Whether it be at a major event like SummerSlam or the final match of his career, Cody has to be considered one of the key candidates to be the man who gets to be the final opponent of Cena.
