Zack Sabre Jr. pinned NEVER Openweight Champion Hirooki Goto in a very good match of power vs. technique.

From the gate, ZSJ began striking Goto, but the champ responded in kind with shots of his own. Goto herked Sabre up with a side suplex, and ZSJ rolled to the outside. Following his lead, Goto tossed Zack into the barricades not once, but twice. He attempted to toss him in for a third time, but Zack countered into an arm submission.

Back in the ring, Zack kept working arm-based submissions, with Goto rolling into the ropes to escape. Kicked around and taunted, Goto had enough and got back to his feet to hit Zack with a massive lariat. Back in control, Goto hit a step-up enziguri in the corner for a two-count. He attempted a ushigoroshi, but Zack countered it with a guillotine chokehold, which Goto countered into a vertical suplex.

Goto went for a top rope elbow drop, but ZSJ countered into another armbreaker. He hyperextended Goto’s bicep and was close to a submission before Goto got a toe on the ropes. With Goto on his knees, Zack kicks to Goto and went for a knee strike, but Goto caught him and got back to his feet. Goto tried to go for a running lariat, but Zack countered with an octopus hold. However, Goto powered out and got a ushigoroshi. He went for a GTR, but Zack kicked his arm and tried for a bridging pin to get a two-count.

The two got back to their feet and Goto hit a reverse GTR and fired up. He tried to go for a real-deal GTR, but Zack escaped and rolled up him up in a European clutch for the three count.

ZSJ now has 10 points and victories over the US and NEVER champions. Goto remains at six points.
