More WWE Stars To Debut For AAA

Since being purchased by WWE last April, we have seen a number of WWE talents make their way south of the border to appear for Lucha Libre AAA.

On the most recent episode of the show, NXT talent Drake Morreaux debuted with a mysterious new gimmick, wearing a mask and attacking Psycho Clown.

Following Morreaux’s debut, we could see some more WWE talents make their debut for AAA.

Here are some more WWE stars we could see debut for AAA.

Elijah Holyfield

With Drake Morreaux making his debut for AAA, we could see some more Evolve and LFG talents arrive in the lucha promotion.

One name that is confirmed to be making his way down to Mexico is Elijah Holyfield, the son of boxing icon Evander Holyfield, who has been appearing on WWE Evolve.

On the most recent episode of WWE LFG, Shawn Michaels informed Holyfield of the opportunity to compete in AAA going forward.

AAA presents a new opportunity for Holyfield to showcase his talents ahead of a potential debut on NXT television.

Ilja Dragunov

Ilja Dragunov’s absence from WWE television continues to make fans grow more and more irritated about the Mad Dragon’s booking on the main roster.

After returning from over a year on the sidelines back in October, Dragunov captured the United States Championship in his first match back, before dropping the title to Carmelo Hayes on December 26.

Now, Dragunov has not competed in a match since the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal back in April, with no injury reported as the reason for his absence.

If WWE main roster creative has no plans to use Dragunov, which they clearly don’t, then he could be another name who could thrive in AAA.

Johnny Gargano & Candice LeRae

It has now officially been six months since Johnny Gargano first decided to take a nap on a crate backstage on WWE SmackDown.

With Gargano’s continued involvement in segments with CM Punk, Sami Zayn and others, WWE is making it seem as though they have a plan for the story, though after so long it’s something that will need to be seen to be believed.

Candice LeRae has been incredibly loyal to her husband through this tough time, with her even taking him down to NXT ahead of Stand & Deliver in an attempt to wake him up, which is the closest we have come thus far to seeing ‘Johnny Wrestling’ again.

With the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship now having new holders, it could once again be Candice who attempts to wake her husband up, this time putting her career in his hands as they chase the Mixed Tag Team Titles.

Giulia

Giulia has now been on the WWE main roster for over a year, and right now her stocks have never been lower in the company.

Losing the Women’s United States Championship should have been a launching point up the card for Giulia, but months on, she has virtually no momentum to speak of, with her most recent appearance being a two minute defeat to Lash Legend.

Now, SmackDown has even more women to juggle with the arrival of Tatum Paxley and the seemingly impending arrival of Lola Vice, which will only make it harder and harder for Giulia to get spotlighted.

A trip to AAA may be the best option for her in the short term, as AAA is still in the process of building it’s women’s division.

Tama & Talla Tonga

After winning the AAA Tag Team Championship back at Noche de los Grandes, the War Raiders have not appeared in AAA, spending most of their time backstage with Damian Priest and R-Truth on WWE SmackDown.

The recent title vs title match between the two teams went to a non-finish on SmackDown before Tama and Talla Tonga made an impact, laying both teams out after aligning with their legendary father Haku.

A WWE Tag Team Championship match is set for next week’s SmackDown, which will likely see the Tongans recapture the Tag Team Championship, with the AAA titles potentially not too far behind.

If the Tongans do manage to get hold of the AAA titles, they will be making their debut for AAA shortly after.
