While the current WWE NXT Champion Joe Hendry isn’t long into his reign, there are already a line-up of challengers waiting for their shot.

From expected foes to potential outside picks that could make a big impact during this year’s lead up to NXT Stand & Deliver, there could be some fun storylines ahead to unveil the next NXT champion.

Here are seven WWE stars that could become the next NXT Champion.

7. Ricky Saints

Making a big impact already in his just over one year in NXT, Ricky Saints is no stranger to holding the NXT Championship.

Having previously held the title for 70 days last year, Saints ultimately fell to Oba Femi at WWE NXT Deadline before “The Ruler” vacated the belt one month later.

Continuing his feud over the NXT Championship with current champ Joe Hendry, it would make complete sense to see Saints capture the title next.

With their growing rivalry likely to benefit from trading the NXT Championship back-and-forth rather than either having long reigns, there could be some fun high stakes action still to come.
