NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn VI – Preview

Shayna Baszler (c) vs Kairi Sane – NXT Women’s Championship

In what is a rematch of the 2017 Mae Young Classic (MYC) final, Kairi Sane takes on Shayna Baszler, the most dominant woman ever to set foot in NXT.

Sane won their encounter in the MYC, but her opponent is a much more formidable figure than she was this time last year. Baszler has seen off all competition with relative ease, but could the feisty Sane be the one to finally strip her of the belt.

With much talk of a possible Four Horsewomen vs Four Horsewomen match for Survivor Series, you could argue that Baszler needs to be called up ASAP so that she’s not just thrown in.

That would call for her to drop the belt to Sane, leaving her free to move up to WWE. Or, she could pull a Kevin Owens and take the belt with her, pin John Cena and then drop the belt to Sami Zayn…I mean it’s unlikely, but that’s wrestling.

I think Baszler is ready for a call-up, and with the huge increase of female being signed to NXT from the MYC, someone needs to shift to the main roster.

Sane is a brilliant wrestler, and now that Io Shirai is also on NXT, the pair could form a great partnership and eventually build a feud.

Prediction: Kairi Sane
