After capturing the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE WrestleMania 42 night two, Roman Reigns once again sits atop of the company with the top prize.

‘The OTC’ has since then reunited with The Usos to reform The Bloodline and looks to be around WWE a lot more often than he has been in the past two years.

Reigns heading into WWE SummerSlam 2026 as World Heavyweight Champion should open the door for some big time matches in store for him at the ‘Biggest Party of the Summer.’

Here are eight potential Roman Reigns WWE SummerSlam 2026 opponents.

8. Jacob Fatu

On the April 20 WWE Raw after WrestleMania 42, Jacob Fatu stepped up to the plate to challenge his cousin Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Fatu came to his family with the intention to not only claim the title, but also wants everything that ‘The OTC’ has right now.

Wanting to improve his way of life for himself and his family, ‘The Samoan Werewolf’ feels more focus than ever and has a newly added weapon with The Tongan Death Grip to get the job done.

While Fatu will challenge his cousin for the gold at WWE Backlash 2026, it does not eliminate him from continuing this feud all the way up to SummerSlam where this storyline may culminate at this massive show.

7. LA Knight

Someone who is never too far away in being in contention for the World Heavyweight Championship since coming to Monday Night Raw is LA Knight.

‘The Megastar’ has been determined to finally become a world champion for the past several years dating back to his first encounter with Roman Reigns.

After coming up short against ‘The Tribal Chief’ back at WWE Crown Jewel 2023, Knight might want to be the one to dethrone Reigns during this new run with the gold.

Knight challenging Roman for the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE SummerSlam 2026 would make for an intriguing battle considering his recent alliance with The Usos at WrestleMania 42.

6. Randy Orton

At WrestleMania 42 night one, Cody Rhodes defeated Randy Orton to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship.

After coming up short against Rhodes, Orton laid out his former friend with a title belt to the head and then punted him to close the show.

Since this loss, ‘The Viper’ has not been seen on WWE television, begging the question when fans might see him next.

Looking to take down Reigns and win his 15th world title, Orton could return to WWE Raw where he might be the perfect challenger for ‘The OTC’ at SummerSlam 2026.

5. Bron Breakker

When looking at the WWE Raw roster, Bron Breakker is someone who has gotten the better of Roman Reigns on several occasions over the past year.

Whether it be thanks to an attack or in tag team action, Breakker has proven to be physically dominant against ‘The OTC.’

Despite their many interactions and brawls with one another, Breakker has never gone one-on-one with Reigns.

After concluding his rivalry with Seth Rollins, Breakker should have his sights firmly on Reigns and could come for the World Heavyweight Title at WWE SummerSlam 2026.

4. Drew McIntyre

Another Friday Night SmackDown star who could make their way to Monday Night Raw looking for the World Heavyweight Championship is Drew McIntyre.

After losing the Undisputed WWE Title to Cody Rhodes, ‘The Scottish Warrior’ found himself embroiled in an intense rivalry with Jacob Fatu.

After losing to ‘The Samoan Werewolf’ at WrestleMania 42, McIntyre has not appeared on WWE TV since then.

Returning to the company, McIntyre could come after his longtime rival Roman Reigns and would make him a suitable challenger for the World Heavyweight Title at WWE SummerSlam 2026.

3. CM Punk

At WWE WrestleMania 42 night two, Roman Reigns defeated CM Punk to win the World Heavyweight Championship.

‘The OTC’ now reigns at the top of the company, while Punk now has to regroup after dropping the gold.

While he is currently absent from WWE TV, ‘The Best In The World’ might make his return in time for SummerSlam 2026 to challenge Reigns to a rematch.

After the instant classic at Mania, Reigns could defend the gold against Punk in what would be a highly anticipated main event for SummerSlam in Minneapolis.

2. Seth Rollins

Getting injured in October 2025, Seth Rollins was forced to relinquish the World Heavyweight Championship.

Since making his return in January, Rollins has made it clear that one of his goals is to regain the title he never lost.

Now that Roman Reigns holds the top prize on WWE Raw, it feels like a collision course between the former Shield brethren is inevitable.

Reigns vs. Rollins feels like a perfect headliner for the WWE SummerSlam 2026 premium live event this August.

1. Oba Femi

No one is riding the level of momentum that Oba Femi is on right now coming off the heels of WWE WrestleMania 42.

At ‘The Showcase of the Immortals,’ Femi defeated Brock Lesnar in what was the biggest win of his career.

‘The Ruler’ not only dominated ‘The Beast,’ but he also seemingly retired Lesnar following this loss.

It feels like nothing is stopping Femi from winning the King of the Ring tournament and going on to challenge Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE SummerSlam 2026.
