While reports surfaced that Santos Escobar had departed WWE after his contract expired, he is reportedly no longer a free agent and has rejoined the company.

With Santos Escobar said to have re-signed to a new contract with WWE, there would certainly seem to be some compelling creative coming his character’s way soon, with the company putting an increased focus on the Legado Del Fantasma frontman.

Here are six return plans for Santos Escobar in WWE now that he has reportedly re-signed with the company.

6. Joining Judgment Day

Since his feud with Rey Mysterio was compelling but ultimately a little unsatisfying, perhaps Escobar isn’t done thumbing his nose at the WWE Hall of Famer yet.

Potentially linking up with “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio and The Judgment Day, Escobar could end up proving to be the catalyst that finally takes the Intercontinental Champion out of the faction.

Able to sew seeds of dissension with Roxanne Perez, Raquel Rodriguez and the WWE World Tag Team Champions JD McDonagh and Finn Balor – it could be that Santos Escobar finally gets Dominik ousted from the group.

Able to channel a mischievous and conniving character to go alongside his impressive in-ring talents, Escobar could look to become the singles champ in the group.
