Six Biggest Takeaways From WWE Money In The Bank 2020

3. Corbin Throws Mysterio And Black Off The Roof

Has anyone checked in on Rey Mysterio and Aleister Black after “being thrown off the roof” of Titan Towers? The WWE HQ is literally seven stories high, that is approximately fifteen Rey Mysterio’s!

Obviously, they are still alive and well because Aleister Black managed to tweet this:

Was this spot just done for comical reasons or is there a bigger story behind it? Will Black & Mysterio return with undead, spooky gimmicks? Will they have darker personas than before? This could lead to a faction being created with AJ Styles called “The Wrestling Dead”.

Realistically, this spot was probably only done to be part of the mayhem known as this year’s Money In The Bank. However, it does beg for many theories before we see both men on tonight’s RAW.

2. Asuka Becomes Ms. Money In The Bank

Both Money In The Bank matches emanated from WWE Headquarters and happened at the same time. This was designed so the cross-cutting nature would prevent the matches from becoming stale and Edge vs. Orton levels of wall bouncing.

This was complete insanity, as it should have been for a match in this style! Asuka started the contest off by hiding for her entrance in the lobby and leaping down in an ambush of fury. She would then use the elevator to try and reach the top. Surprisingly, the other women managed to catch-up to her in a bonkers game of cat and mouse.

Dana Brooke ended up picking up a fake briefcase and had a horrible encounter with Stephanie McMahon – which didn’t even look filmed in the same State, let alone the same room. She then got a Carmella poster shoved onto her head by the former MITB winner, seemingly causing tension between the duo, who have been teaming with each other since WrestleMania.

The three opponents that reached the top of the roof were Jax, Asuka, and Evans. After a lackluster fight in the ring, Asuka climbed up the ladder to then be intimidated by a different match competitor, King Corbin? Oddly, Asuka sent Corbin crashing down the ladder to win the contract.

With Vince having high views on Asuka, it seems she will go from the ‘Empress of Tomorrow’ to Today pretty soon.

1. Otis Becomes Mr Money In The Bank

The men’s side of this match through the Corporate enterprises of WWE was also exciting and dramatic.

Let’s give a big shoutout to AJ Styles. The man can go with the best of them and still offer light-hearted humour. The Phenomenal One was instantly trapped beneath a heavy barbell by Otis and thereafter, he got flashbacks to his Boneyard match with The Undertaker. The rest of the competition decided to torture him by shutting him in the room where the Deadman rests.

He also walked into Mr. McMahon’s office while battling Daniel Bryan. Due to not wanting to be fired, they quickly exited and continued the brawl somewhere else. This did lead to a moment where Vince used hand sanitizer – relating to the current uncertain times that the world is suffering. If Vince can keep good hygiene, then you can too!

Due to Corbin having bad luck from shattering the gym’s mirror earlier in the match, Elias returned smashing his guitar into Corbin to send him plummeting from the top of the ladder. It looked like Styles was going to win. However, the briefcase fell too and into the hands of Otis.

Otis is this year’s Mr. Money In The Bank. There are many speculations that he will challenge for the tag team titles, alongside his Heavy Machinery partner, Tucker. Or perhaps he will lose a match with the contract on the line in Mr. Kennedy fashion.

Whatever happens, Otis has had quite the 2020 thus far, winning the girl and the briefcase.
