Six Potential Opponents If Bayley Wins At SummerSlam

Six Potential Opponents If Bayley Wins At SummerSlam

Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been two WWE superstars that have exploded to the top of their game. With Lynch and Charlotte taking time away from TV, Bayley and Sasha Banks have been the workhorses of the Four Horsewomen. They have been the most noteworthy WWE stars of this year and their achievements have been boundless!

Bayley has held the SmackDown Women’s Championship for almost an entire year. She holds this precious title around her waist with the Tag Team Championship over her shoulder. Likewise, Sasha Banks has the Raw Women’s Championship.

With both Role-Models defending their single titles against Asuka at SummerSlam and having to defend their Tag Team Championship’s a week later at Payback, they could go from gold to goldless real quick.

However, if that isn’t the case and Bayley remains SmackDown Women’s Champion. Who should her next defence be against? Here is a list of ‘Six Potential Opponents If Bayley Wins At SummerSlam’:

6. Nikki Cross

The Nikki Cross character has always been quite the maniac but her actions lately have put her on a whole other level of psycho.

Over the past year, Cross has seemed to gain this obsession with the SmackDown Women’s Championship. She has never won it but has gotten so close that she could taste it. This taste of glory has made her determined to finally vanquish Bayley – even if that means hurting whoever is in her way.

With Banks in Bayley’s corner, there was always a distraction in the way of Cross’ victory. Therefore, it would be great to see this story transpire further. This could put a strain on her relationship with Alexa Bliss, and there are tons of possibilities of where you can go with that.

This story can be so good if they took out the interferences and commotions and allowed the match to be vicious and destructive. I don’t think we are done with Nikki Cross just yet and one day she will get her chance to hold a single’s title in WWE.

5. Alexa Bliss

While Cross has been gaining all these Championship matches and getting nowhere, Alexa Bliss has been sitting in the sidelines, supporting her best friend. It is time to change that.

Recently, Bliss has been involved in the personal rivalry between Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman. She appeared in Strowman’s hallucination during the Swamp Fight and was even attacked by “The Fiend” a few weeks ago!

Bliss could go on to play an important factor in the Universal Championship match, however, what are her plans for afterward? Hanging around with Nikki Cross has made a bigger difference to the Bliss character than first thought.

Bliss and Bayley have a history dating back to 2017 and now could be the time to reignite that rivalry with the roles reversed. Now, Bayley is the bully and Bliss is the babyface.

Bayley and Bliss have had some goofy and tiresome rivalries – look at ‘Bayley: This is your life’ for an example. It is time to change that because both of them can wrestle decently and talk with the best of them!

If Bliss wins, carrying this championship into Wyatt’s or Strowman’s creepy world would be an interesting story to play out into the Halloween season.

4. Naomi

A logical challenger for Bayley, if she wins at SummerSlam, would be Naomi.

Who doesn’t love Naomi? She is athletic. She is flexible. Some of her moves require insane amounts of talented to pull off and best of all, she can dance! She is just really fun to watch in the ring compared to other wrestlers.

There is even a movement on Twitter making the rounds because Naomi does deserve much better than a rivalry over karaoke…

Therefore, Naomi vs. Bayley is definitely an ideal way to go. They can have a good match, giving fans what they want to see and continuing to elevate the SmackDown Women’s Championship by having in a feud people care about.
