Six Potential Opponents If Randy Orton Wins At SummerSlam

Six Potential Opponents If Randy Orton Wins At SummerSlam

If Randy Orton is victorious in his WWE Championship encounter against Drew McIntyre, he will become a fourteen-time World Champion.

Orton as champion doesn’t seem like a terrible idea. They could put the strap over his shoulders so that McIntyre gets the babyface cheer he deserves in front of a live crowd at a later date. Orton is also doing some of the best work of his career. He has punted through legends such as Edge, Christian, and the Big Show and doesn’t look to be slowing down anytime soon.

So why don’t we discuss the possibility of another Randy Orton title run? Last time it happened he was defeated by Jinder Mahal…

Let’s take a look at ‘Six Potential Opponents If Randy Orton Wins At SummerSlam”:

6. Kevin Owens

This coming Raw will see a fight between “The Viper” and Kevin Owens. However, what if this was for the WWE Championship?

Both men are truly talented in the ring and there is no doubt this match would be intense, entertaining and highly physical. Furthermore, Owens hasn’t been involved in the WWE title picture for quite some time and the quality of his work is astonishing.

Also, “Stunner vs RKO” seems like a typical WWE tagline. This could be a match for the ages and the feud is sure to get personal due to their record of betrayals.

5. Ricochet

Ricochet hasn’t had the most successful of years. He got rag-dolled in his WWE Championship match against Brock Lesnar at Super ShowDown, earlier this year.

After that, he lost effortlessly against low-card talent such as Riddick Moss. Then he was thrown into a tag team with another guy in a similar position, Cedric Alexander. This team hasn’t had the chance to shine as of yet and when they do, they lose to Shane Thorne and Brendan Vink.

Maybe it is about time for Ricochet to get the push he deserves. He did get a 365 Documentary on the WWE Network a little while ago which shows WWE does care for him as a star they can build. They just haven’t and it is frustrating.

However, a way to get Ricochet back on the path to success would be to have him challenge WWE Champion, Randy Orton.

Orton can play the menacing heel which is always limiting Ricochet. For Ricochet to bounce back and win the biggest title in the game. Also, you know Orton will hit an insane RKO while Ricochet does a flip and who doesn’t want to see that?

4. Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe has currently been doing an awesome job on the Raw Commentary team and there is no word when he is set to return to the ring full-time. It is fair to say even though we love his work as a talker, his wrestling ability is greatly missed!

We did kinda see a tease to in-ring action on a recent edition of Monday Night Raw. Seth Rollins wanted to sacrifice Tom Philips and Joe stood up for his commentary partner. He didn’t get physical but this could lead to a confrontation against Rollins at a later date.

If so, then Joe should be looking at the bigger picture which should definitely be a shot at the WWE Championship. With Joe being a babyface, Orton would be the best guy to be his opponent. They both have a vicious side and can trash talk with the best of them.

What Joe’s match with Brock Lesnar at Great Balls of Fire showed was that his stories work better when they get gritty and intense. This would certainly be the case in a match with the “Apex Predator”.
